I thought for sure Florida's best seller would be the Sebring/200

The world is hilly and scenic outside of Florida.

Nah, they're too busy catering to those damn non-retired youth and they got rid of the front bench seats so we can't drive them to bingo anymore!!!!
![]() 01/24/2014 at 19:46 |

Wow, I'd have expected Utah to be the Suburban aka. The Morman Assault Vehicle (MAV).

It seems I live in the land of the CR-V. Ugh.

What. The. FUCK, Oklahoma?

50% chance of being right/wrong, hahaha. At least it's not DC, they get the Corolla.

As a European, seeing this, I can only have one explanation:
![]() 01/24/2014 at 20:16 |

There must be a fleet vehicle effect in play for at least some of this. And I'm not saying that based on VT the state car should be some flavor of Subaru. Though everyone I know there drives Toyota cars, Honda minivans, Ford trucks, and the uncle in law has a Datsun 280 for fun.
Edit: Second thought. I need to normalize this map by total number of cars driven in each state to see how much of a majority this is.

Thats what made me think to look it up, when I saw your Georgia one. I wondered how many states actually did have the F150 as best-selling.
![]() 01/24/2014 at 21:27 |

I thought it odd that only Indiana topped the Ford in truck sales with the silverado.
![]() 01/24/2014 at 21:28 |
|
Indiana has a plant for Chevy.
That would explain it.
![]() 01/24/2014 at 21:29 |

Ahh... So I wonder why Kias aren't at the top in Georgia.
![]() 01/24/2014 at 21:38 |

Because it is the South and they love trucks.
For the most part, all the sales are fleet vehicles.
Parts stores, dealers, everyone needs trucks to deliver stuff, so they sell in the masses to places like that
The Civic is in CA probably because its economical, and what not
Florida has old people, so Camry.
No idea why Oklahoma is Altima.....
![]() 01/24/2014 at 21:39 |
|
Yea Altima was a complete surprise, like WTF?!
![]() 01/24/2014 at 21:42 |
|
It probably has to do with people buying them as work vehicles.
![]() 01/24/2014 at 21:58 |

Pick-up trucks and workaday sallo*ahem*sedans, as far as the eye can see.
It's like America's a nature reserve for all of Europe's most endangered breeds of car.

While all too popular here, Civics really are f'n everywhere here.
